Sports, Recreational & Cultural Associations
The West Island offers everything you could imagine in the way of recreational facilities. These include organized kids and adult leagues for hockey, ringuette, soccer, football, baseball, softball, and rugby, as well as clubs for tennis, squash, raquetball, badminton, gymnastics, skating, curling, swimming, diving, golf, cycling, skiing, horseback riding, canoeing and sailing. There are groups to join for all manner of arts & crafts and wonderful facilities for cycling, fishing, boating, cross-country and downhill skiing. The ski hills and lakes are within an hour's drive of the West Island. There are cultural centres in five of the communities offering exhibitions, concerts and many local theatre, music and dance companies, both amateur and professional.

Newcomers’ Club
Newcomers' clubs welcome women and their families, and provide a network for women who are new to the area. They run a variety of interesting programs and have meetings with guest speakers, invited to present topics ranging from parenting to gardening.
